Nigeria’s representative at the ongoing Basketball Africa League (BAL), Kwara Falcons On Sunday lost its opening match 48-64 against Rwanda Energy Group (REG), at the Basketball Africa League (BAL) third season in Dakar.
Before the game, the competition dunked off with the match between Abidjan Basket Club, ABC who lost 70-76 to Association Sportive Des Douanes, ASD.
Kwara Falcons who are debutants in the Sahara Conference started strongly as they took the first quarter 16-9 but the 2022 basketball league champions of Nigeria could not maintain the tempo of the match as they lost the second quarters with a five point margin, losing 15-20.

The third and fourth quarters were a tale of woes for the Nigerian representatives as they struggled to end 8-24 and 9-10 respectively, leaving them with a 21 points deficit.
At the end of the match, the stats showed that Kwara Falcons outstanding player was Jeremiah Mordi who made 6points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Kwara Falcons will continue with their fixtures today as they face another debutant Stade Malien of Mali in Dakar, Senegal.
