Lagos State League: Ighalo Win Away, As DN 10 Hammer SGH 3-0

Ighalo FC began the 2024/2025 season in the Lagos State League on a very bright note as they picked three maximum points away from their home after defeating Unizee FC 1-2 in a pulsating encounter on match Day One in Week 1.

Unizee FC had taken an early lead in the 29th minute through Tijani Hassan in jersey no. 11 only to succumb and surrender to the fire power of Ighalo FC who fought back to beat them after 90 minutes of action.

In another encounter also played on Wednesday, DN 10 FA were in a killer mood as they pummeled SGH 3-0 to send the visitors empty handed without a goal or point.

At Isheri Olofin it ended in a stalemate between Bucknor FC against Team 360 as both sides shared the spoils 1-1 to ensure they got a point each for their troubles.

The three matches played so far all produced goals with a total of 8 goals scored to portray the level of attacking and the proficiency of the strikers in front of goal.

Saturday March 22 would witness more matches and excitement in the league as Ibeju Lekki United would slog it out with Utmost FC in the Mainland Conference while SC Heritage would clash with Young Strikers FC in the Atlantic Conference.

The League CEO, Wale Joseph expressed satisfaction over the conduct of teams with their officials in all the venues while also charging them to continue to maintain discipline, professionalism throughout the new season.
