LaLiga: Bale regrets not joining teammates during Real Madrid title celebrations

Date:

Gareth Bale is regretting that he was not part of Real Madrid’s title celebrations at the weekend.

The Wales captain insists he couldn’t join his teammates due to a back injury after they were confirmed champions following victory over Espanyol on Saturday.

Bale had trained normally in the pre-match session and it was not until after the session that he said his back hurt, an injury that was undetectable by the medical services, reports Marca.

The Welshman posted to social media more than three hours after the end of the match: “Very disappointed not to be able to be part of the celebrations tonight due to back spasm but so proud of the team for winning the title! Enjoy tonight guys!”

Bale’s case contrasts with that of Eden Hazard, who went to the stadium accompanied by his entire family. Despite his lack of minutes, the former Chelsea captain took his young children to the Bernabéu so that they could enjoy the party. The same was done by banned and injured players, including Luka Jovic, Nacho and Eder Militao.
