Former Barcelona midfield maestro, Andres Iniesta, has expressed desire to return to his boyhood club after ending his stint with Vissel Kobe.
Iniesta said Barcelona is his home and would love to return to Camp Nou in the near future.
The 38-year-old left Barcelona to join Vissel Kobe on a free transfer back in the summer of 2018.
During his 16-year stint at Barcelona, the Spaniard helped the Catalan club lift a whopping 30 trophies, including nine La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies.
Iniesta netted 57 goals and registered 138 assists in 674 appearances for Barcelona.
Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Iniesta said, “I will spend another year here [in Japan] and then we will see.
“I would love to return to Barça, it’s my home, but I don’t know in which role: as coach, sporting director or something else. In any case, I will have to mould myself. I still see myself as a footballer.”
