LaLiga: It’s not too late – Puyol welcomes Messi back to Barcelona

Date:

Barcelona legend, Carles Puyol, has welcomed the club’s former captain, Lionel Messi, to come back to the Blaugrana in the near future.

Puyol said it is not too late for Messi to make a return to Barcelona, adding that the Paris Saint-Germain forward will always be welcome at Camp Nou.

The Spanish centre-back played with Messi during their time at Barcelona.

Messi left his boyhood club, Barcelona, last summer to join PSG.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner joined PSG as Barca could not afford to offer him a new deal due to their financial situation.

Messi endured a difficult debut campaign at PSG, scoring just 11 goals in 34 matches in all competitions.

“It’s not too late for a Leo Messi return,” Puyol said via Goal.

“He has one year left in his contract, and many things can happen in that time.

“It depends on Xavi and Leo, but he will always be welcomed at Barca.”
