Barely 6 months into his departure, Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun could be set for a shock return to the Scottish premier league side Glasgow Rangers.
The Nigeria international left the Ibrox stadium in June 2022 following the expiration of his contract and could stage a return after his present coach at Queen Park Park Rangers Michael Beale agreed on a deal with the Scottish former champions.
Beale signed Balogun for QPR in the summer after both worked together when he was working as an assistant coach to Steven Gerrard.
While speaking on the defensive crisis rocking Rangers, legend Ally McCoist was shocked at why the club allowed Balogun to leave.
“A lot of agreements need to fall into place, but Balogun could certainly be a handy addition for Rangers again given their current defensive injury problems,” McCoist said, as reported by Evening Glasgow Times.
Former Brighton Hove Albion player signed a year deal with QPR with an option of extension but also has the opportunity to speak to any interested club in January 2023.
