Libya appoint new coach for AFCON ties against Eagles

Super Eagles

Libya has appointed Nasser Al-Hadiri as their new coach for next month’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against the Super Eagles.

Al-Hadiri previously served as the assistant to Spanish coach Javier Clemente, who managed the Libyan team in 2014.

He has replaced the Serbian Micho, who was fired after Libya failed to win their opening two rounds of 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

The North African country were held to a 1-1 draw in Tripoli, before they lost to Benin 2-1 in Abidjan.

They are bottom of Group D with a point after two rounds of matches.

They take on the Super Eagles in Uyo on October 11, before they welcome the three-time African champions in Benina, near Benghazy, four days later.
