Lionel Messi offered €200m by new club

Date:

Lionel Messi has been made a jaw-dropping offer to rejoin Barcelona this summer.

El Nacional reports that Barcelona have tabled an offer worth €200 million to bring the 35-year-old Argentine back to Camp Nou.

The 35-year-old has had a difficult time at Paris Saint-Germain since making a shocking exit from Barcelona in 2021.

The Argentina captain, who helped his country claim the 2022 FIFA World Cup in December, has failed to help the French side achieve their main goal of lifting the Champions League.

PSG were knocked out of the Champions League this season by Bayern Munich and Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made public his intention to bring back the legendary forward.

Messi has yet to agree a new deal at the French capital despite his current contract expiring over the summer.

Now the Blaugrana are prepared to offer him a massive contract to entice him despite their well-known financial struggles.

They have offered Messi a two-year contract which will pay him the minimum wage.
