Liverpool now ready to sign in PSG ‘s Leandro Paredes

Liverpool are in interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes as a solution to their midfield problems, but face competition from Juventus , according to TNT Sports

The Argentinian has come off the bench in the last four matches for Christophe Galtier’s side, who have started Ligue 1 in incredible style.

However, the former stalwart under Mauricio Pochettino wants to leave the club, and would see Liverpool as a good option.

The Old Lady are the front-runners for his signature, after already establishing a good relationship with PSG this summer with the signing of Angel Di Maria.

The Reds are currently in the midst of a general injury crisis, with a particular focus on the midfield area.

Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all missing from the usual first-team setup.

And Paredes, a Champions League finalist and multiple title winner with the Parisians, would be an excellent option for cover in both the defensive and central midfield areas.

With a makeshift midfield of James Milner, Harvey Elliott and Jordan Henderson performing poorly against Manchester United, Liverpool may be forced to fork out a good amount on a player they may not have initially looked at when the window began.

And Jurgen Klopp, after previously saying that he would not look to sign a midfielder, has said that he ideally would like one before the window closes on September 1st.

Unprompted, Klopp said that with the injuries they have, “It would be cool to have a new midfielder in, of course now.”

But he also suggested that it is not him that has control ofthe financial situation at the club.

“We are not in charge of what we spend, we are not. That’s the situation, we get things told and then we deal with it. It was always the same, never different.”

Paredes would be an experienced option for Liverpool, but as Klopp says he is not in control.
