Liverpool is now among the clubs watching Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, with the Napoli star also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur.

Osimhen continues to impress in Serie A and the Champions League with Napoli. The 23-year-old already has nine goals this season and played a key role as Napoli qualified alongside Liverpool in Europe. And that form, it seems, has alerted Liverpool and Tottenham.

According to Gazzet Dello Sport, as cited by Sport Witness, Osimhen is being watched by Liverpool and Manchester United. The northwest duo’s interest follows on from that of Tottenham. Indeed, we reported on TBR just this week how Antonio Conte is said to be keen on the forward.

Dubbed a ‘phenomenal‘ striker thanks to his performances in Naples, Osimhen turned heads when he signed for the Italian side for around £70m in the summer of 2020.

Since then, Osimhen has gone on to score 37 goals for Napoli. His form for Nigeria is excellent too. Osimhen has 15 in just 23 caps for the Super Eagles.

Liverpool’s main focus so far has been on signing new midfielders. But having faced Napoli twice this season, the idea of bringing Osimhen to the club could also appeal.

If Liverpool somehow managed to sign Jude Bellingham and then land Victor Osimhen as well, then heads would certainly turn.

The Nigerian is one of Europe’s best strikers of his day. And at 23, he’s only going to go on and get even better with more experience and coaching.

The signing of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool showed the club will spend if they need. And with talk of a potential takeover looming in big-money signings could be on the agenda.

Osimhen would cost a hefty sum. But he has plenty of upside sides, and he’d improve Liverpool right from the off.
