Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has said that he is grossly elated that Ademola Lookman was crowned the best player in Africa, saying, it will boost and encourage young talented grassroot players to thrive to achieve same feat.
Adeboye made this encouraging statement after lookman won the prestigious African best player’s award in faraway Morocco, saying that, with what lookman has done, young Aspiring player’s will work hard to be the best player in Africa and in the world in future.
“Personally, I am deeply happy and proud of what lookman has achieved this year. He has been phenomenal in the past one year, winning the best player in Africa is truly deserved, and it will heavily motivate our grassroot players to thrive to be the best in their various careers”, he said.
“Winning the African best player’s award back to back by Nigerians, shows that Nigeria has great talents and as the SA on grassroots sports to the President, I am saddled with the responsibility of producing more future African best players from Nigeria”, he added.
“Last year was, Victor Osimhen, this year Ademola Lookman, they have brought back the pride of the nation in African football and we will continue to produce more African and World class players that will continue to showcase the God given talents of our blessed nation” he concluded.
It would be recalled that, Victor Osimhen won the prestigious award last year, and Ademola Lookman clinched the award this year, making it a back to back success by Nigerian players in Africa’s most important and prestigious award.
