The Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Liameed, Sunday, led a delegation of the State FA board members, as well as, other stakeholders, to pay a condolence visit to the Surulere family residence of late veteran sports journalist, Dapo Sotuminu.
Addressing the wife and children of the respected journalist, Hajji Gafar Liameed, expressed his heartfelt concern and sadness over the unexpected death of Sotuminu.
He was however, quick to thank God for the life and times of late Dapo Sotuminu, which he described as good and positively impactful, on his community and on the country’s sports landscape.

On his part, former Nigeria international player, Victor Ikpeba, a close ally of the late journalist, who was also a part of the delegation, equally expressed his shock and sadness to the family, adding that he will never forget the good works of Dapo Sotuminu, who was the National Coordinator of the Victor Ikpeba’s 5-aside tournament.
Ikpeba disclosed that there are plans to immortalise the late journalist, as he stated that beginning from the next edition of the popular 5-aside tournament, it would be renamed as Dapo Sotuminu 5-aside football championship, to keep his loving memories, as well as, his invaluable contributions, to the community, through sports.
