LSFA CUP 2023 : Upset As Smart City, First Bank, 36 Lion Bid Farewell To Lagos FA Cup

A Lagos based newly NNL club, Smart City this morning crashed out in the round of 32 of the ongoing Lagos State Challenge Cup.

Smart City lost 0-2 to NLO team, Real Sapphire Football Club this morning in an encounter generated passion among the football fans.

Omoregbe Osemwengie netted his first goal for Real Sapphire in the 15th minutes to send warning signal to their opponents.

Smart City who were tipped to win the encounter could not live up to expectations as their opponents stood their ground in all departments of the field.

As Smart City were looking for equaliser in the second half, Real Sapphire player, Abdul Bawa scored the second goal in the 82th minutes to compound the woe of their opponents.

Effort by Smart City to reduce the tally proved abortive as their opponents ran away with victory.

First Bank also lost 0-2 to Box 2 Box FC in another match played on Thursday morning.

Tradesafe Sports also shocked 36 Lion 1-0 to book a place in the round of 16.
