Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga has shattered Sam Kerr’s record for the most goals in a single National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season, finishing with 19 goals.
According to a post from Fabrizio Romano’s X account on Sunday, Chawinga, who plays as a forward for the Kansas City Current and the Malawi national team, set the record in her debut NWSL season.
At just 26 years old, the striker previously competed for Swedish club Kvarnsvedens IK and Chinese team Wuhan Jianghan University.
