Man City reject chance to sign Man Utd midfielder Pogba

Manchester City have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The France international’s contract at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of June, and Red Devils interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has all but confirmed that the World Cup winner will be leaving on a free transfer.

Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain continue to be linked with the 29-year-old, but a recent report claimed that Pogba was also open to remaining in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Star, Man City have been approached in recent weeks to discuss the possibility of signing Frenchman on a free transfer.

However, the report claims that the Premier League champions have made it clear that they are not interested in bringing the midfielder to the Etihad Stadium ahead of next season.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola also said back in 2018 that the club had turned down the chance to sign the Frenchman during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge of the Red Devils.

Pogba has scored once and provided nine assists in 27 appearances for Man United this season, and he faces a fight to return before the end of the campaign due to a calf problem.
