Victor Osimhen

Manchester United’s new investor Jim Ratcliffe is targeting a move for Victor Osimhen in the next summer transfer window.

According to The Sun via  Area Napoli, the English billionaire has set his sights on capturing the 24-year-old who has just signed a new contract with Napoli.

Ratcliffe has just purchased 25% of Manchester United shares and will control football operations which means he will be in charge of transfer activities of the club.

With the 20-time English champions continuing their struggles in front of goal, it is no surprise that Ratcliffe wants to sign a proven striker like Osimhen.

They were linked with the Nigeria international in the summer but couldn’t afford his valuation and settled for Rasmus Højlund who has struggled to adapt to the demands of English football.

Come next summer, the Red Devils won’t be the only English club in pursuit of the reigning CAF African Men’s Player of the Year as Chelsea and Arsenal also have him as a potential target.

Osimhen’s new contract with Napoli has a release clause in the region of €130 million which must be triggered by any interested club if he is to leave Naples at the end of the current campaign.
