Man Utd Flop Alexis Could Rejoin Arsenal, Says Overmars

…Wenger Says He Can’t Complain Of Benching At Man U

Arsenal legend Marc Overmars believes Alexis Sanchez will return to the club one day.

The Chilean has struggled since swapping the Gunners for Manchester United last January.

“I have great respect for Alexis, because he did extremely well in Arsenal, but I do not know if it was a good decision to leave,” he told Chile Radio Station,ADN Deportes.

“English football changes you, it turns you around, and it took me a step forward. Arsene Wenger arrived a year before me, Dennis Bergkamp made a big impression England. It was a fantastic time, I think we changed the history of the club a bit.

“These type of players were very important for Arsenal, because that’s where they take you to focus, after Alexis, Arsenal tried to sign another player like that, but he was not given, so he could go back to Arsenal.”

Meanwhile, former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Alexis Sanchez cannot complain being benched at Manchester United.

Under Wenger at Arsenal, Sanchez was one of the best-attacking players in world football.

But since joining Manchester United in January 2018, Sanchez has struggled to reach those heights.

Wenger said: “He [Sanchez] has lost his position. He plays in the same position as Martial.

“And today, who would dispute that Martial is indispensable for Manchester United?

“That’s fair competition in my opinion.”
