Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has announced that he will reveal where his future lies in the coming days as speculation continues over a possible switch to Real Madrid

The World cup winner has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, while his current side has been trying to get him to sign a new deal. The Frenchman, whose 25 league goals and Ligue 1 title saw him named Player of the Season for the third consecutive campaign, is out of contract in June.

At the UNFP awards on Sunday, Mbappe appeared on stage with Thierry Henry where he claimed his decision will be made very soon. “I will officially announce my decision on the future before I join the France national team in June,” said the 23-year-old. “I can’t say about my future but you’ll know very soon, it’s almost decided. This isn’t the right moment but yes, yes, my decision is almost done.”

It’s thought that Mbappe could well join his French compatriot Karim Benzema in Spain. He has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu for almost a year, and has even turned down contract offers from PSG.

Talks of Mauricio Pochettino leaving the French capital as not helped matters, given there is no clear future for PSG. The side were dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid in the Round of 16, too, while supporters have held protests against the board and some of their players.

Benzema has been at Real Madrid for over 10 years but the fans now want Mbappe to join

After receiving his trophy, Mbappe added: “It’s always an honour to be here. Winning for a third time in a row is incredible. I’ve felt the recognition this season more than ever.”
