Manchester United are preparing to hand Scott McTominay a new contract worth £120,000 a week, with the midfielder proving to be an important player for the club this season.
The Scotland international was heavily linked with a move away from the Red Devils last summer, with West Ham United believed to have been interested in signing him.
Fulham are also thought to have made an attempt to bring in McTominay when it appeared that Joao Palhinha would be joining Bayern Munich, but neither deal went through.
The 27-year-old has been an important player for Erik ten Hag’s side during the 2023-24 campaign, making 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and registering three assists in the process.
According to the Daily Star, Man United have made a decision on the midfielder’s future, with the club preparing to offer him a lucrative new contract at Old Trafford.
The report claims that new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has given the green light for a £120,000-a-week contract to be offered to the Scot, which would double his current wage packet.
McTominay has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, with the option of a further 12 months, but he is seemingly in line for a fresh deal with the club.
The midfielder has scored seven goals and registered one assist in 25 Premier League appearances this season, while he managed one goal and one assist in Man United’s 4-3 success over Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last time out.

McTominay has been with Man United since the age of five, progressing through the various youth teams at the club before making his first-team debut in 2017.
The Scot has made 243 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 28 goals and registering eight assists in the process.
McTominay is also a vital player for his country, earning 48 caps since debuting in 2018, scoring eight goals and registering three assists.
The midfielder played the full 90 minutes of Scotland’s 4-0 loss to the Netherlands on Friday evening and is set to be back in action against Northern Ireland on Tuesday night.
McTominay will then head back to Man United to prepare for Saturday’s Premier League contest against Brentford, with the Red Devils bidding to make it successive victories in England’s top flight.
