Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has returned to training after an injury sidelined him since December 2024.
Ndidi was back on the pitch ahead of their match against Everton on Saturday (today).
However, head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has indicated that the game may come too soon for the Nigerian international.
“Wilf is making good progress,” the Leicester boss disclosed.
“He’s been partially involved in team training.
“This week, we aim to integrate him back into full team training , to have him ready next week.”
The 28-year-old Wilfred Ndidi picked up a thigh injury during Leicester City’s 2-2 draw against Brighton on December 8, 2024, sidelining him for nine games across all competitions.
Despite his injury, Ndidi has continued to attract interest in the transfer market.
According to Transfer Feed, Leicester City may lose the midfielder to AS Monaco before the transfer deadline.
The potential move comes as Leicester faces financial difficulties and pressure related to Profit and Sustainability Rules, compelling the club to consider offloading key players.
With the team struggling in the league and needing to balance their finances, Ndidi’s transfer to Monaco could offer much-needed financial relief.
This season, the 28-year-old has registered four assists in 15 Premier League appearances.
