League football resumed last week with the final round of matches before the international break for continental and global qualifiers.
As in previous seasons, Nigerian players based in Europe finished their last appearances for their clubs before returning to Nigeria for the qualifiers.

Friday
Ademola Lookman was an unused substitute for Atalanta when they were annihilated by Inter Milan 4 – 0 in the Italian Serie A.
Saturday
In Southampton’s away loss of Brentford, Joe Aribo played all the minutes for The Saints, who are back in the Premier League.
Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were on for Fulham as they played away in Ipswich, a match that ended in a 1 – 1 draw. While the latter played throughout, the former was hooked off in the 87th minute.
Wilfred Ndidi played until the 78th minute for Leicester City in their 1 – 2 home loss to Aston Villa.
Nuno Espirito’s Nottingham Forest’s side featured Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi in the 1 -1 against Wolves. Ola Aina featured for the entire match while Taiwo Awoniyi was brought on in the 91st minute.
Semi Ajayi played for West Brom in their 1-0 home victory over Swansea City.
In the German Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen and Victor Boniface saw their unbeaten run ended as Leipzig defeated them at home. Boniface was substituted by Patrick Schick in the second half.
In Italy, Lazio and AC Milan ended in a 2-2 draw. Dele Fisayo-Basiru came on for Lazio in the 81st minute, while Samuel Chukwueze was substituted for AC Milan in the 70th minute.
In the French Ligue 1, Akor Adams scored the lone goal for Montpellier in their match against Nantes, where Simon Moses also scored for Nantes FC.
In the Portuguese league, Bruno Onyemachi entered the game in the 54th minute for Boavista FC in their goalless draw with Estoril.
Sunday
Christantus Uche played the full match for Getafe in their goalless draw at home against Real Sociedad. Chijera Ejuke also featured throughout Sevilla’s home game against Girona, while Kelechi Iheanacho remained an unused substitute.
Maduka Okoye was pivotal for Udinese Calcio, keeping a clean sheet in their 1-0 home victory over Como. At Napoli, Victor Osimhen did not play in their comeback win against Parma FC and may not feature for Napoli again this season.
Raphael Onyedika was flawless for Club Brugge in their commanding 3-0 home win over Cercle Brugge. Meanwhile, Cyril Dessers played the full match for Rangers FC, who endured a heavy defeat away to Celtic FC.
