Moses Turns Attention On August 17 Lig Opener

Fernebahce of Turkey winger, Victor Moses has turned his attention fully on his side Turkish Super Lig opening match of the season on August 17, ahead of which he says he is hoping to regain full fitness and shine for the team when they go out against Gazisehir Gaziantep FK.

Moses exuded excitement after seeing his side get another pre-season game behind them earlier this week, but the former Super Eagles star stressed that it is not just to play top clubs in friendly matches, but to build on what they gain from those games, in order to be fully ready for proper action in the Turkish championship.

He, however, admitted it was good seeing his team play against the like of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as part of their preparations for the 2019-2020 season.

The Yellow Canaries conceded 11 goals in total during their matches with the top clubs from Germany and Spain, as they lost 6-1 to Munich and were then beaten 5-3 by Real Madrid on Wednesday.

However, rather than sulk over both results, Moses, who was named in Fernabahce’s starting line-up versus Bayern and got off the bench in the 57th minute of the midweek clash against Madrid, said it was a good way to test his team’s preparation for the new season.

Moses told Fenerbahce TV: “It is a good tournament playing against the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

”But the most important thing is to get the fitness, it is all about fitness and it’s all about how well you have done.

”We have to take the positives out of the tournament, I thought we’ve done very well today, we are looking forward to the season.”
