Italian journalist Ciro Venerato claims Serie A leaders Napoli could turn to West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca if Nigerian ace Victor Osimhen departs in the coming months – with Liverpool and Tottenham among the clubs keen on him.
Osimhen, 23, has scored 10 goals in 14 games for Napoli as Luciano Spalletti’s side continue to steam roll Serie A. After 15 League games, Napoli remain unbeaten at the top of Serie A, winning 13 times and are nine points clear at the top.
Nigeria international Osimhen will surely look to remain at Napoli and hope to fire Spalletti’s side to the Serie A title. GDS say Liverpool are keeping tabs, while Rudy Galetti claims he could replace Harry Kane at Spurs, if Kane goes.
Venerato says Osimhen would cost £86million (about #45,241,741,049.14 Billion Naira) or more. But who could replace him? Well, Venerato has told Area Napoli that new West Ham star Scamacca and Chelsea striker Armando Broja are two names on an eight-man shortlist.
“If offers exceeding €100m should arrive, the club will evaluate the options and the different circumstances. Broja and Scamacca are two sure names among the eight forwards monitored by Napoli,” Venerato says, as per Area Napoli.
Scamacca has made a solid-ish start to life at West Ham – scoring six goals in 21 games. But, he will have been hoping for better. However, it is not all down to him. West Ham on the whole have been poor under David Moyes so far.
In Europe, very good. But in the League, after an influx of new signings, they look as though they are yet to gel. It might take a bit of time for Moyes to work out his best side. And in turn, get the best out of Scamacca.
Could West Ham be open to a quick sale of Scamacca, perhaps next summer? Unlikely. But of course, if Napoli reinvest a large portion of the £86million they might get for Osimhen, then it could be a quick profit for the Hammers.
