Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis met with the agent of top scorer Victor Osimhen and set the price-tag at over €150m (about N135bn), which currently no clubs have come close to.
The patron had said during the presentation of new coach Rudi Garcia that he had a verbal agreement with Osimhen to extend his contract by another two years.
In the same press conference, he also added that if an offer came in too big to be ignored, then the club and Nigeria international would have to evaluate it.
Today De Laurentiis met with agent Roberto Calenda and Sky Sport Italia claim they set the asking price at over €150m, so nothing below that will even be considered.
Although there has been interest from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, the figures are believed to be closer to €100m.

There is also the issue of the contract, as if Osimhen does extend, then he wants a salary that reflects the value he has been given on the transfer market and so far De Laurentiis has not hit that mark yet.
The player himself returned to Lagos this week and was given a hero’s welcome by the fans there.
The 24-year-old won Napoli’s first Serie A title in 33 years and became the Capocannoniere of the competition with 26 goals in 32 league games.
