National Youth Games: Delta to Highlight Traditional Richness at Opening Ceremony

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 8th National Youth Games is set to showcase Delta State’s rich traditions during the opening ceremony tomorrow. The games, dubbed Asaba 2024, will run from September 9 to 19 at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

LOC Chairman Chief Solomon Ogba stated that the opening ceremony will feature a variety of traditional elements and performances by top musicians. Over 5,000 athletes from across Nigeria will compete in this year’s event.

Traders in Asaba are enthusiastic about the business opportunities presented by the games, with many setting up stalls in anticipation of the influx of athletes and spectators. Local traders have expressed their gratitude to Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his support in hosting the games, which they believe will significantly boost local commerce.
