NBBF Men’s Premier League: Police ready to ‘arrest’ Raptors

Date:

Head Coach of Police Batons of Lagos, Dike Dominic is targeting a much needed victory against fellow Lagos team, Raptors when they meet tomorrow.

Speaking ahead of the all-important clash at the ongoing Nigeria Basketball Federation organized Men’s Premier Basketball League, he said picking the two points at stake is top on their target.

Less than 24 hours to their game set to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Akure Township stadium, Dominic said his team will go all out.

“We will go all out and most especially concentrate on our defense and we are sure that the offense will come naturally.

“If we do the right thing with the calibre of players at our disposal, we are sure of getting our third win.”

After two wins in four games, Dominic described his team’s performance as average with more room for improvement.

“Average performance from my boys but I trust them to step up when it matters most because we seem to be improving with every game”.

He remains optimistic that his team under the Chairman of Superintendent of Police, Michael Togun can still win their remaining games and book a National Final 8 ticket set to hold in Lagos.

“I am very sure that we can still qualify for the final 8 in Lagos if we keep going at this pace”.

In the competition so far, the restructured Police Batons have lost to Rivers Hoopers and Kwara Falcons and their wins coming against Ondo Raiders and Coal City Miners.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, CAMAC stepped up big against marauding Rivers Hoopers

Close game it was but at the end of the day, Hoopers depended on their experienced squad to win the game 73-58pts to continue their unbeaten run.

Islanders withstood their ground to defeat Ondo Raiders 52-48pts at home.

Coal City Miners’ search for their first win continues after losing to Raptors of Lagos 69-65pts.

More action will continue on Monday in the Atlantic conference with Rivers Hoopers taking on Lagos Islanders in what promises to be explosive.

Coal City Miners will take on CAMAC before facing Kwara Falcons later in the day while the Ondo Raiders will hope to feast on Invaders of Ekiti.

In the Savannah Conference, Customs will take on Reformers. City Chiefs will battle Nigeria Army while Kano Pillars will take on Defenders before the game between Gombe Bulls and Benue Braves.
