NFF Killing Local League With Foreign Imports

The Nigeria Football Federation, is gradually killing the local league, with its penchance for hunting for players grown abroad, who never have any idea of how the national team plays.

Several ex-internationals who do not want their names in print, accused the leadership of the NFF headed by Melvin Amaju Pinnick, of becoming a scout for the Super Eagles, instead of being an administrator. “Its getting out of hands and until will curb this anomaly, the Nigerian league will remain in a quandary.

Most of the analysts declared that the biggest stars that have ever come of Nigeria, where groomed out of the local league and they went on to do exploits abroad. “Look at Stephen Keshi, Dan Amokachi, Friday Ekpo, Humprey Edobor, Peter Rufai, Wilfred Agbonibvare, Emmanuel Amunike, Rashidi Yekini and Victor Ikpeba. They all started here at home, lets look back at home instead of always running to ‘Ajebo boys’, the ex-international commented.

Meanwhile, the NFF leadership is said to have continued its chase for players in the Diaspora, saying that their fore4ign mentality will help the national team do well in the coming World Cup qualifiers and the African Cup of Nations.
