Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has been handed three month salary by his employer, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Contracted last May, the Portuguese signed a one-year performance-based contract with the federation reportedly to the tune of $70,000 monthly salary.

But a decent source close to the Portuguese who was spotted on Sunday in the Qatar 2022 World Cup milieu in Doha, informed our correspondent that the national team manager has been paid three months’ salary.

“ By the way, the NFF has paid Peseiro three months’ salary,” a confidant of the coach who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent last night

Incidentally, there had been pockets of reports early last month that the former Al Ahly of Egypt coach might be forced to quit the Super Eagles job due to owed wages.

A situation which forced the NFF General Secretary Dr Sanusi Muhammed to issue an advisory , saying ‘ Peseiro was doing his job as Head Coach of the Super Eagle….and has not reported the NFF to FIFA with regards to his wages’.

“I can truly confirmed that Peseiro has been paid ,” our source added.

Meanwhile, Peseiro is in Qatar for the World Cup as the 62-year-old reportedly uploaded pictures of himself in several stadia stands on his Instagram account as per Soccernet.ng.

Under Peseiro, the Super Eagles have pocketed just two wins including the 2-1 win over Sierra and 10-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe in the on-going 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers under Peseiro but recorded losses in four international friendly matches against Mexico, Ecuador, Algeria, Costa Rica, and Portugal.
