Nigeria Ministry Of Youth And Sports Officially Recognized Mixed Martial Arts Federation

The Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development has officially recognized and granted approval to the Nigeria Mixed Martial Arts Federation, NMMAF as a National Sports Federation having satisfied all conditions.

The approval was granted by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, through a communiqué, under the supervision of the Federal Government.

The communiqué signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ismaila Abubakar states in part, “following the interfaces between your Federation and the Federal Ministry of Youths & Sports Development and having satisfied the conditions precedent, I am pleased to inform you that the Honourable Minister of Youths & Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has approved the recognition of the Nigeria Mixed Martial Arts Federation as a National Sports Federation under the supervision and control of the Federal Government effective 11th January 2023”

Also the Sports Ministry noted that the recognition is pursuant to the Federation’s acceptance to abide with the Code of Governance of all National Sports Federation in Nigeria and other extant Government’s regulations unanimously approved the NMMAF activities.

Reacting to the recognition through Federation’s media, the President of the NMMAF, Ambassador Henry George thanked the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare for the recognition and said this will harness the growth of Mixed Martial Arts in the country.
