Vice President Kashim Shettima declared on Tuesday that Nigeria is not merely catching up with the global economy but is poised to surpass it.
He made this assertion during the unveiling of the AI Expertise Blockchain and Technology Training and Outsourcing Initiative in Dutse, Jigawa State.
The initiative, launched at the Yakubu Gowon NYSC Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse, forms a crucial part of Nigeriaโs digital transformation strategy aimed at establishing leadership in Africa.
Developed in partnership with tech company Gluwa, the AI Expertise Blockchain and Technology Training and Outsourcing Initiative aims to annually train 1,000 Nigerians in artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and other advanced technologies.
Shettima urged the youths to embrace the initiative, stressing that โit is important for the nationโs economic future.

He described the programme as โa homecoming ceremony for those who have eased our journey through the Fourth Industrial Revolution.โ
While outlining the federal governmentโs broader vision, Shettima said, โWe are adopting this initiative across the nation to create a network of tech hubs that will power Nigeriaโs economic growth for decades to come.โ
