Nigeria vs Portugal: Super Eagles suffer major blow as Osimhen, others to miss friendly tie

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have suffered major injuries ahead of their international friendly match with Portugal on Thursday night.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday confirmed that Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro would be without injured players Victor Osimhen and Olisa Ndah for the game.

According to the NFF, Cyriel Dessers will replace Osimhen, while Chidozie Awaziem will replace Ndah for the Portugal clash.

The Nigeria football governing body disclosed this in a tweet via its Twitter handle.

It tweeted, “Update Portugal V Nigeria friendly: Chidozie Awaziem replaces injured Olisa Ndah, while Cyriel Dessers replaces injured Victor Osimhen.”

DALY POST reports that Thursday’s encounter between Portugal and Nigeria will take place at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon.

The kick-off is 18:45 pm Portugal time (19:45 pm in Nigeria).

Portugal, in Group H of the Qatar 2022 World Cup with Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea, parades a quality side that includes talismanic captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
