FC Midtylland midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, is delighted to be crowned the Best Young Player in the Danish Superliga.
Onyedika slotted perfectly in the club’s midfield last season after his compatriot, Frank Onyeka left for Premier League outfit, Brentford.
The Nigerian made 31 league appearances for Midtylland during the last campaign.
The 21-year-old beat his teammate Gustav Isaksen, Brondby’s Anis Slimane and FC Copenhagen’s Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson to the individual accolade.
“It means a lot to me to get this award. It’s always nice with recognition, even if it’s the team’s performance that matters most to me. I am happy to have played so many matches and been a regular part of the team,” Onyedika told Midtylland ‘s official website.
“The season has gone much better than I had dared to hope for. There must be a big thank you to the coaches and my teammates who have been good at helping me so that I have always been able to improve.”
“It has been the most important thing for me, and it still is. I want to get better all the time. So I keep working hard every day for training and looking at every match to see what I can do better.
