Nigeria’s Ambassador To Portugal Alex Kefas Makes Bold Prediction Ahead Super Eagles Game Against Portugal

Date:

Alex Kefas, Nigeria’s ambassador to Portugal, believes the Super Eagles will defeat the Seleço in Thursday’s friendly match in Lisbon.

Nigeria and Portugal will meet for the first time ever at the senior international level when both teams line out at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on November 17.

Kefas paid a visit to the Eagles following their training session on Tuesday and stated that with the quality of players assembled by head coach Jose Peseiro, he is confident of a Super Eagles victory over the 2016 European Championship winners.

“I’m happy to see a very powerful squad,” Kefas said via NFF TV. “I have seen the list earlier so I went through the list one after the other. I was so impressed that this is a very powerful squad and I’m sure of a win against the Portuguese.

“This is the first time that we are going to have our national team play Portugal. Since we established our diplomatic relationship with Portugal 48 years ago, this is going to be a special match not only for Portugal but also for our country.

“And I’m happy that the coach himself is from Portugal, we have to win. It is important we redeem our name, our image and also for the coach.”

Kefas also made his score predictions for the encounter in favour of Nigeria. He added: “I told the Portuguese ambassador that Nigeria will win 2-0 so I am confident we are going to do that.”
