No Real Madrid player can clean Messi’s boots – Carrasco

Date:

Former Barcelona winger, Lobo Carrasco, has insisted that no Real Madrid player comes close to the club’s legend Lionel Messi.

Carrasco, who spent 11 seasons at Barcelona from 1978 to 1989, said this while responding to Spanish coach Fran Garrido’s criticisms of Messi.

Garrido had criticized Messi, claiming that he would not get into Real Madrid’s current starting XI, telling El Chiringuito: “If I were a Real Madrid coach and I had Messi… (he would not be a starter).”

However, Carrasco has now leapt to Messi’s defense, responding: “No Real Madrid player can clean Messi’s boots.”

Messi has dominated world football throughout his career, carving a legacy at Barcelona that many will likely never be able to replicate.

The Argentine captain has won four Champions Leagues and ten La Liga titles, among many other honours.
