Nottingham Forest are close to agreeing a deal to bring in Dean Henderson on loan from fellow Premier League side Man Utd, according to reports.
Henderson seemed on the verge of replacing David de Gea as the new Red Devils number one at the end of the 2020/21 campaign but the Spaniard leapfrogged him at the start of last season to regain his place as undisputed starter.
There has been lots of speculation that he could leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window with Newcastle heavily linked to the former Sheffield United stopper.

But it now seems that Nottingham Forest have won the race for his signature with Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth insisting that the newly-promoted side are ‘close to agreeing deal to sign’ Henderson, who only played three matches last season.
It will be a ‘loan with option to buy for £20m’ next summer and Man Utd will ‘pay portion of wages next season’ with Sheth adding that ‘Forest showing big ambition – talks led by Miltiadis Marinakis, son of owner Evangelos.’
Meanwhile, former Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish thinks Man Utd should sign Christian Eriksen “in a heartbeat” with the Denmark international available on a free transfer.
McLeish told Football Insider: “For me, it’s a no-brainer. If they can get Christian, take him in a heartbeat.
“I still feel that United are nickel and diming a little bit. With the manager, there have been some players Man United have been linked with that I think: ‘No’.
“I just cannot see progress for Man United in that respect when I see some of the names linked with them. This is what Ten Hag will find is the most difficult part of his career and life, recruitment.
“If he and the recruitment guys don’t recruit the guys that can take Man United to another level then I’m sorry, it’s going to be the same old, same old. We’ve seen it for the last five, six years, or let me go back even further, since Sir Alex (Ferguson).”
