Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Kwara United FC have announced the former handler of Wikki Tourists FC, Kabir Dogo, as the club’s new Technical Adviser in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital.
Dogo replaces Abdulazeez Mohammed, who resigned from the position. The appointment, according to the club, is with immediate effect.
The club’s Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, said it was very necessary to name another coach, because “allowing a vacuum will not augur well for the club at this crucial moment.”
Dogo’s appointment came shortly after Mohammed’s resignation, moments after their NPFL Match Day 7 defeat to hosts Nasarawa United FC, losing 2-0 at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday.
Under Mohammed this season, Kwara United won just one (1) of their seven (7) matches, losing four (4) and drawing two (2).
“We have accepted his (Mohammed’s) resignation, as he has accepted full responsibility for the club’s poor run,” club Chairman Titiloye added.
“We cannot continue like this, despite the commitment of the Government, the Management and Stakeholders.”
