NPFL: Remo Star Maintains Winning Pace

Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) secured a point in Uyo after the Sky Blue Stars played out a 1-1 draw against Dakkada FC at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in matchday four (4) of the Nigeria Processional Football League (NPFL).
Head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote made just two (2) changes to his side that played out a 0-0 in Ikenne, Seun Ogunribide and Tolulope Ojo were dropped to the bench for Edozie Ewelike and Olamilekan Adedayo.
It was the host that started brilliantly with an early attempt from Femi Ajayi but Nduka Junior was available to disturb their attack.
The first chance came for the Sky Blue Stars in the seventh minute through Adedayo Olamilekan after Akanni Qudus sent him a delicious pass but Loveday Anugbuo was at alert to deny him.
Muritala Lawal put the host ahead in the thirteenth minute through a corner kick after Nduka Junior clear off his line at once after Solomon Kantoma had taken the kick.
Just immediately, Adedayo Olamilekan got an opportunity to level things up but his attempt went inches over the bar.
Remo Stars Mercurial Midfielder, Dayo Ojo sent a lofty pass towards Andy Okpe, he tried to dribbled Boniface Nwaeze, but he clear at once and the resulting attempt from Dayo Ojo went inches over the bar.
In the thirtyeth minute, Andy Okpe got a blank cheque to put his goalscoring to four (4) in the NPFL after receiving a sweet pass from Adedayo Olamilekan, but he placed the ball wide.
The Sky Blue Stars levelled up four (4) minutes into the end of the first half through Samuel Anakwe, he carefully slotted in a spilled ball from Loveday Anugbuo after Dayo Ojo’s initial shoot from Nduka Junior’s freekick.
Once again, Kayode Bankole was called into action as he denied Samuel Akpan’s attempt three (3) minutes after the hour mark.
Muritala Lawal had the chance to put his team ahead once more but this time, his attempt flipped wide and thereafter, a long pass goes Andy Okpe’s way, he struggled with the ball until the host cleared the ball off his feet.
The host had another chance in the closing minutes of the game through Samuel Akpan but the woodwork denied them their chance to leapfrog the Sky Blue Stars.
Remo Stars also had their own share in the closing minutes after Ebenezer Akinsanmiro found his way into the final third to locate Sodiq Ismail, he squared at once but Andy Okpe missed another golden chance to give the visitors the maximum points.
The result sees the Sky Blue Stars remain top of the league with 8 points ahead of Rivers United who is equal on point but adrift with goal difference.
Next for Remo Stars is a home game at the Remo Stars Stadium against Plateau United who are two points behind the Sky Blue Stars on the log.
