NPFL sanctions Katsina United, Gombe United, Niger Tornadoes

The Nigeria Premier Football League has fined Katsina United N1 million for flouting its dress code regulation.

The Chanji Boys were charged for the inappropriate display of a player’s name and number during the matchday 11 encounter against Sporting Lagos.

Their kits manager, Masudu Lawal, received a one-year ban from all NPFL activities for improper conduct.

Gombe United were fined a total of N7 million and a one-match stadium ban to fans for breaches ranging from disruption of match by fans throwing objects onto the field of play, to disruption of the live broadcast of the match and failure to provide adequate and effective security.

Similarly, Niger Tornadoes were fined N3.25 million for a similar offence.

The Ahmadu Bello Stadium, the home ground of Niger Tornadoes, has been ordered closed to fans for the next three home fixtures of the club.
