NPFL: Sunshine Stars clash like cup final – Rivers United boss, Eguma

Date:

Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma has said his team will approach Thursday’s clash against Sunshine Stars like a “cup final”.

Both teams will clash in the matchday two encounter at the Ondo State Sports Complex on Thursday.

Sunshine Stars held Doma United to a 1-1 draw in their opening game.

Defending champions, Rivers United on the other hand defeated Lobi Stars 2-1.

Sunshine Stars have a better head-to-head, having registered 11 wins and eight draws from 25 outings between both teams.

“You know defending the trophy is more difficult than winning it because every eye is on us (Rivers United),” Eguma said ahead of the game.

“Every team want to dethrone Rivers United, so we have to approach all our games like a cup final.”
