NPFL2022: RIVERS UNITED WINS TITLE WITH THREE GAMES TO SPARE

Rivers United’s 5-year Nigeria Professional Football League title wait ended on Saturday as they were confirmed as NPFL champions courtesy of second-placed Plateau United’s 2-1 loss at Akwa United.

The result at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo means Rivers United have an unassailable 10-point lead over Plateau United with three games left.

A guard of honour is expected to be mounted for Rivers United as they confront Nasarawa United in a matchday 35 tie on Sunday (today) 26th June 2022 at the Jos Township Stadium.
