NSCDC arrests 81-year man, two others for alleged assault minor in Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command has arrested three individuals, including an 81-year-old man named Adeleke Oke, and two others, Sikiru Lawal (37) and Moshood Ayinde (37), for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Offa, Kwara State.

According to a statement released on Thursday by NSCDC Public Relations Officer Ayoola Michael, the suspects were apprehended on Sunday following a report filed by the victim’s father.

The case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.

The statement read, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the three suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to disclose the illicit acts to anyone.

“Furthermore, a detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured and provided clear evidence of repeated sexual penetration.

“The suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for prosecution.”

“The State Commandant of NSCDC, Dr Umar J.G. Mohammed, vehemently condemned the despicable act, urging the good people of the state to partner with the Corps in its efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual offences.”
