As both renewed their rivalry months after they both claimed a gold medal for Team Nigeria in Birmingham, Lawal claimed the top prize in Asaba by a kilo better after she lifted 97kilos to beat Adijat who settled for silver with 96kilos.
Peace Annokwuru of Team Rivers got the bronze with an 85kg lift.
