NSF Delta 2022 : Tonobok Okowa To Host Southern Versus Northern Nigeria Sports Journalists Novelty Football Match

President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria who doubles as the Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa, and other major stakeholders in the sports industry will host Sports Journalists covering the 21st National Sports Festival to a novelty football match tomorrow, Saturday, by 8am at the St. Patrick’s College, Asaba.

Former Chairman of Warri Wolves FC, Moses Etu who loves playing from the right wing is expected to captain the Southern Journalists alongside his pair from the left wing, Gowon Akpodonor(Snr. Correspondent of the Guardian Newspaper).

Topsportsafrik CEO and Chevron Allstars Warri, Ogo Clarkson, who rescued the visiting SWAN at the last Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State, with his header is expected to lead the attack for the host region on Saturday.

Chairman of Delta Sports Writers’ Association, Azuka Chiemaka, will be manning the goalpost, with the Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, close to him in the defence area.

MFM Media Officer Olawole Quadry, Charlse Diya of Newtelegraph, Sammy Wajinya(Former River Utd,Media) and
Creek FM Jackson Hananeel are expected to play from the middle, with Edo Broadcasting Service veteran broadcaster, Joseph Isokpehi, to give technical support as a trained coach.

Phemmy Adetula, Hakeem Aketunde, Tosh Michael, Amaechi Agbo, Iyke Owoike, among others , will give beauty and finesse to the much-talked about clash.

No doubt the Southern team will face a formidable squad from the North led by midfield maestro and head of Sports AIT Network, Calistus Ebaere, with the support of tallest, Osas.

President of NPFL Media Officers’ Forum and Head of Nasarawa United Media team, Eche Amos Eche will use his speed and skills to cause mayhem down the flanks, while Kola Daniel(SA Media to the sports minister Sammy Adesoji, Francis Achi of Totori Sport(Media Officer, U-20), Adam Jesse, Zakari, Idris Dari, among others, will be on prowl to inflict injuries on the host team.

The novelty match is expected to be played in the watchful eyes of the Secretary to the Delta state Governor, SSG, Hon. Patrick Ukah, Chief Sunday Dare, Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Evangelist Solomon Ogba, Hon. Bukola Olopade, Mr Sola Aiyepekun amongst others.

The National President, Honour Sirawoo who arrived this Friday said it’s a good initiative to promote peace and unity among the professional sports writers and to show a way for appreciation to the Delta state government for been a good host.
