The Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL, has called for an improvement in the officiating of games.
The NWFL made the call after a virtual emergency meeting on Thursday.
The NWFL agreed that an extra effort must be made in order to make the standard higher than ever.
The women football body also resolved that the assistance of match officials committees must be solicited in elevating the standard of officiating.
The congress passed a vote of confidence on the board of the NWFL for their achievement so far and resolve to realise the Women’s Football Rising strategy.

The meeting was attended by Nkechi Obi (Chairperson); Hajiya Husaina Suleiman (Vice Chairman); Alhaja Rukayat Lola Alaya (Member), Ayodele Thomas (Member), Danny Nazzal (Member), NWFL COO Modupe Shabi and club representatives.
Others at the meeting are Mrs Tosin Ojo, Jimmy Aimuagbonrie, Abolore Abdulrahmon, Adedoyin Ogunbefun, Samuel Ahmadu-Secretary.
The 2024 NWFL season enters Week 11 this weekend with Heartland Queens and Beyelsa Queens top of the Group A and B tables, respectively.
