NWFL Match Day 6 Roundup: Delta Queens, Edo Queens Maintain Position At The Summit

Five games went down on match day 6 of the Nigeria Women Football League and the duo of Delta Queens and Edo Queens maintained their position on top of groups A and B.

Against all odds, Delta Queens held former champions Rivers Angels to a goalless draw in a keenly contested game.

In Yola, Adamawa Queens relied on an 88th-minute penalty from Ijeoma Obi to edge the visiting Nasarawa Amazon.

Confluence Queens rallied back from a goal down to beat FC Robo Queens 2-1 in Lokoja.

Folashade Ijamilusi put Robo Queens ahead in the 55th minute but two quick-fire goals from Zainab Azeez in the 74th and 80th minutes ensured a 2-1 win for the host.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens held host Naija Ratels to a 1-1 draw in Abuja.

Juliet Sunday gave Bayelsa Queens the lead in the 17th minute while Agama Ziperekefeghe scored a leveller in the 73rd minute.

Edo Queens will play host to Abia Angels on Thursday at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin, Edo State.
