Date:

Delta Queens of Asaba, yesterday suffered a fluctuating fortune in their MD8 encounter with visiting Bayelsa Queens of Yenegoa inside the main bowl of the Stephen Keshi, Stadium.

It was a match the visitors’ coach had his game plan of robust tackles and shoving to cause a disconnect with the free flowing football of their host fully executed as the inform pride of Delta fell for the booby trap!

Having lost the reverse fixture at home to Delta Queens, the visitors came to stop affliction from happening a second time.

It was a mission well accomplished by the Super Six reigning champions.

Delta Queens seeming below par performance was a thing of wonder to ex-youth international Binebi Numan.

Binebi, a member of the all conquering Golden Eaglets who is a Bayelsan, told this platform in a chit chat shortly after the game, that Delta Queens played a more commanding football in Yenegoa.

However, this comparative analysis by Binebi might not have arisen if the host had been clinical in front of goal having had the opportunities to wrap up the match in the first half.

Although, Mercy Omokwo had opened the scoring in the 16th minute, the home side failed to increase their lead with chances to score on more than three occasions with prolific scorer, Chinaza Agoh, the worst culprit.

In the second half, the visitors drew level and momentarily dominated play in search of the killer goal.

But, it ended well for both sides as they shared the spoil even as the Match Commissioner, Gadys Ekechukwu expressed her delight with the level of officiating.
