The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) new season will commence in 14 days after it announced November 30 as the new kick-off date for the 2022/2023 Premiership campaign.
After the 2021/22 season ended in May, the NWFL since then has had different commencement dates communicated, the recent being October 12.
Now, the Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, Modupe Shabi, from her office in Abuja, informed all participating clubs that “the kickoff date for the 2022/2023 NWFL Premier League season scheduled for the 30th of November is sacrosanct.”
The league of 14 teams divided into two groups, will see the defending champions, Bayelsa Queens in Group A along with Rivers Angels, Heartland Queens, Naija Ratels, Royal Queens, Delta Queens and Osun Babes.
2017 Champions Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Ibom Angels, Adamawa Queens, Confluence Queens, Abia Angels and FC Robo Queens made up Group B.
