Ogun SWAN To Honour Remo Stars Boss, Ikhana, Adesokan, Okoduwa, Others

The Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) side, Remo Stars of Ikenne proprietor, Honourable Kunle Soname, Enyimba International of Aba  former tactician, Kadiri Ikhana and top badminton star, Dorcas Adesokan are among those listed for the 2019  Ogun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Awards.

Others to be honoured at the forthcoming SWAN Award Night slated for Friday, February 1 at the Continental Suites in Abeokuta, the state capital,

include the Ogun State Football Association’s Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, posthumous award to the late veteran sports writer and broadcaster,Peter Okodua and Akeem Gbemisola for his commitment to development of sports in the state.

Activities marking the 2019 SWAN week will kick-start with a thanksgiving service on Sunday, January 27 at the Fulfillment Prayer Mountain, Brewery, Abeokuta while the week will be declared opened by the Secretary To The Ogun State Government,Taiwo Adeoluwa at the same venue.

A statement by the 2019 SWAN Planning Committee Chairman,Wole Otayemi, stated that veteran sportswriter, Kunle Solaja and former Ogun State

Director of Sports, Tunji Onatolu would be guest speakers during the association’s public lecture titled “2018 National Sports Festival-Lessons There-in”.

On Thursday ,inside the indoor sports hall of  the Abeokuta Sports Club,there will be table-tennis friendly game between SWAN and the host club

while a novelty match holds on Friday at the practice pitch of the MKO Abiola International Stadium,Kuto, Abeokuta between SWAN and Freelance

Broadcasters Association of Nigeria(FIBAN) with Jumat service preceding at the Al-Bakar Society Central Mosque, Abiola way
