Okonkwo, Balogun, Kalu, Others Hit Germany For Second Phase Camping

The Nigeria Basketball Federation has released a list of 16 players invited to the second phase of its camping activities holding in Saarbrucken, Germany. 

According to the list released by the Secretary-General of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Peter Njoku, the players include highly rated forward Amy Okonkwo, Elizabeth Balogun, Promise Amukamara, Tomi Taiwo, Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, Lauren Ebo, Blessing Ejiofor, Rita, Igbokwe, Lucy Ibeh and Nicole Enabosi.

Others are Ezinne Kalu, Adebola Adeyeye, Solape Amusan, Christeen Iwuala, and the duo of Murjanatu Musa and Ifunaya Okoro, who were picked from the first phase camp held in Abuja.  

D’Tigress, the reigning African champions would miss the service of team captain Sarah Ogoke, who is not a part of the team, due to personal reasons.

D’Tigress led by Coach Rena Wakama are slated to play some top friendly games ahead of the Paris OlympicGames. The team will test Germany in a friendly game in Berlin on July 19, it would also take on Serbia in Belgrade, on July 21 and Japan in Lille, France on July 24, respectively.

The officials in the camp are Abi Olajuwon, Assistant Coach; Wani Muganguzi, Assistant Coach; Aisha Mohammed, Player Development and Musa Adamu, General Manager.
