Nigeria international defender Ola Aina has expressed his excitement after signing a new three-year deal with Nottingham Forest.

Aina had been linked with a move to Manchester City, sparking some concern among Forest supporters due to his contract situation. After impressing as a left-back in his debut season, he continued to shine on the right flank during the 2024/25 campaign.

Forest had long been keen to secure his future, and with this new contract signed, the speculation surrounding his next move can finally be put to rest.

The 28-year-old richly deserves this new deal and he will be glad to finally get the ink down on paper to remain at the football club. Aina will remain at Forest until 2028 and he was widely considered as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League last season.

After signing for another three years, Aina lifted the lid on his new deal and it’s fair to say that he couldn’t be happier to stay on Trentside.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the club.

“It’s always felt like a home ever since I joined, and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
